Beginner's Knit Scarf

What could be easier than knitting a scarf?  Even for a beginner, this very easy scarf project is done by knitting each stitch across the row and then repeating each subsequent row until your scarf is the desired length.

You don't have to remember any pattern because all you need to know is how to do one stitch (knit) ... that's it !!!   Go ahead, try it, experiment with colors and textures from your favorite yarn stash.

For this project, I used a 6.5 mm needle and worsted weight yarn.   The specific name is Yarn Bee First Love "Thrill" color transitioning yarn (purchased at Hobby Lobby-Texas).

This is the completed project.

Instructions:

Yarn: Worsted weight #4

(For this project, I used Yarn Bee First Love “Thrill”)

Needle: 6.5mm used for this project  (use the recommended needle given for your selected yarn)

Gauge:  Not that important for this project

Cast on 18 sts.  (For a wider scarf cast on an even # of stitches greater than 18)

Row 1 Slip one as if to knit, knit each stitch all the way across to last stitch, knit the last stitch through the back loop.

Row 2 Slip one as if to knit, then knit each stitch all the way across to last stitch, knit the last stitch through the back loop.

Repeat Row 1 and 2 until you have reached the desired length of the scarf.   

Bind Off and weave in the ends.

#Crochet Ribbed Stitch Look Winter Hat

Here's another crochet hat for the cold winter season and a great beginner's project.   This particular pattern is done in single crochet and has the ribbed stitch look.  It can be done using single, half-double and double crochet stitch.   The choice and preference is yours.     Personally, I prefer using the single and half-double crochet stitch for this pattern.    It gives the hat a tighter stitch look and, in my opinion, it is much warmer.   The choice, of course, is yours. 

Have fun making these hats using your favorite stitch and your favorite colors.

Unisex Crochet Scarf

This is a very easy scarf to crochet and can be used for both men and women.

Gauge is not important.  

Hook used is 5.5 mm and medium #4 worsted weight yarn, however, you can use any size hook and yarn that you prefer.   Remember to use the recommended size hook with the yarn that you choose for this project.

Make this as wide and as long as you want to depending on your preferences. 

Instructions:

Make a slip knot and ch an even # of chs. depending on how wide you want your scarf

Row 1 – SC in 2^nd ch from hook and in each ch. across, Ch 1 and turn.

Row 2 – SC in 1^st st., *(DC in next st, SC in next st.) repeat from * to end of row, Ch 1 &turn.

Repeat Rows 1 & 2 until you have the desired length of your scarf.

Fasten off and weave in all your ends.

Optional: attach fringe

Easy Knit Scarf

This is an easy knit scarf that is a fun and quick project even for the beginner.
